Terra Alpha Welcomes back Dr. Jean Rogers to Advisory Board

Terra Alpha Investments is honored to welcome back Dr. Jean Rogers, founder of the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB), to our Advisory Board. Jean was previously an active member of the board but stepped away in 2022 for conflict-of-interest reasons when she joined Blackstone as their Global Head of ESG. We are delighted she is now able to return, bringing both her deep expertise in sustainability and fresh perspectives from her leadership roles since.

Jean is widely recognized as a pioneering leader in sustainable finance. As the founder and former CEO of SASB, now a core part of the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB), she helped create globally recognized disclosure standards that reshaped corporate reporting and improved transparency for investors worldwide. Most recently, Jean served as a Senior Managing Director at Blackstone, where she guided more than $12 billion of investments into energy transition and climate solutions. This year she joined Pegasus Capital Advisors as a Senior Operating Advisor focusing on blended finance in climate, food, water, and ocean ecosystems. Jean also recently joined the USA Board of the Jane Goodall Institute and the Advisory Board of the Woodwell Climate Research Center (formerly Woods Hole Research Center).

Terra Alpha founder Tim Dunn shared: “I am so pleased to welcome Jean back to the advisory board. She brings decades of academic, field work, and accounting and financial experience to our board. Above all else, her values align with Terra Alpha’s purpose to enable a sustainable planet for society.”

Dr. Jean Rogers added: “I’m delighted to be rejoining Terra Alpha’s illustrious Advisory Board alongside such an incredible roster of scientists, astronauts, and thought leaders. Terra Alpha’s innovative materiality-based approach to understanding environmental risks and opportunities has always impressed me – their deep analytical foundation combined with meaningful corporate engagement creates real value for both investors and the planet. After my time at Blackstone working on energy transition investments, I’m excited to bring fresh perspectives back to Tim and the team as they continue pioneering the integration of environmental productivity into investment decision-making.”

In addition to her leadership at SASB, Jean has served as a Principal at Arup, leading sustainable development projects across the US, Europe, and Asia, and as a management consultant at Deloitte. She is widely recognized as a leader in sustainable finance, named by Barron’s as a Top 20 Influencer of Sustainable Investing, honored by INSEAD as a Society of Progress Medal Laureate, and recognized as a Sustainable Hero by GreenTech Capital. She has also been listed among the Most Powerful Women in Accounting and the Top 100 Most Influential People in Accounting, and her insights have appeared in The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Financial Times, Institutional Investor, Stanford Social Innovation Review, Forbes, and Huffington Post.

Jean has held trustee and advisory roles with corporate and nonprofit institutions, such as INSEAD Hoffman Global Institute for Business and Society, Harvard Kennedy School Social Innovation and Change Initiative (SICI), the Standards Board for Alternative Investments (SBAI), Foran Mining, Trane Technologies, SHINE Medical Technologies, Xpansiv, and FiscalNote, among others. Her leadership across these organizations reflects her deep commitment to embedding sustainability into corporate governance and global capital markets.

Jean is a former Loeb Fellow at Harvard University and holds a Ph.D. in civil and environmental engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology, along with B.E. and M.E. degrees from Manhattan College. A former practicing environmental engineer, Jean is a registered Professional Engineer in the states of Illinois and California.

Her return strengthens an Advisory Board whose members bring expertise across a diverse range of topics including planetary sciences, investments, corporate reporting, governance, climate adaptation, and policy. The board plays an important role in informing Terra Alpha’s investment process and corporate engagement work.
